The European Commission is looking for highly-qualified translators.
The European Commission has launched a new tender for the translation of EU documents from and into English and French, involving 49 language combinations, referred to as TRAD_19. The closing date for submissions is 30 August 2019. The procedure will involve the completion of a test translation, a test revision and a case study.
The 49 language combinations sought are:
- English (EN) into BG, HR, CS, DA, NL, ET, FI, FR, DE, EL, HU, GA, IT, LV, LT, MT, PL, PT, RO, SK, SK, ES and SV
- BG, HR, CS, NL, FI, FR, DE, EL, HU, IT, LV, LT, PL, PT, RO, SK, SK, ES and SV into EN
- DE, EL, ES, IT and NL into FR
DGT is looking for highly qualified and experienced translation service providers on whom it can rely. The new type of contract entails new possibilities as regards communication between DGT and its contractors and enables us to build up real partnership, striving to obtain the highest quality possible.
To raise awareness among potential tenderers, clarify any misunderstandings or doubts and answer questions, DG Translation will organise information seminars in most EU capitals. The first information session will take place in Brussels on 21 May. Relevant information will be available at
